I wasn't always a photographer. And I find it funny that I even call myself one. I mean, don't you have to take a test in some building and develop film with one hand tied behind your back?
Let me tell you about why I LOVE PHOTOGRAPHY. The kind of photography that immortalizes people and their memories.
First I was a clueless college student, then I was a microbiology major and a business minor and a chemistry minor. While I was majoring and minoring, I met someone who inspired me. She was so fun to be with. I felt like I had met a kindred spirit. The thing is, I think everyone feels that way when they meet her.
She was a teaching major with something Spanish in there. We became friends even when I was a psycho pregnant woman.
This friend and I kept in touch over the years. I ALWAYS looked forward to their Christmas cards because the letters were funny and the picture was AMAZING. Then the wheels started turning. I wondered, "Where did she get those done? How did she do it?"
Turns out, she did them herself. She had something, a spark of creative talent that I could maybe skim. People started asking her to take pictures for them. Go to her blog, it is one of the best reads. She is whitty and amazing with the camera. Her prose is fun and touching all at once.
From there the rest is history. The line is long for people to still get Kamee June to take pictures of them. You have brides who call to reserve Kam before they are engaged, babies who reserve a day before they are born, and families who plan vacations around when Kam can shoot. She is that good.

Becca, I agree with you that she is great. But honey, you are too! In fact, I plan all my family vacations around you. Thanks for sharing the info about her class. I probably should go and actually learn something about my camera and apeture and whatnot. But then again, I have you to take my pictures for me...
